I am officially certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aider! My heart glowing.

Let me tell you all about it: It was a 3-day virtual with pre and post-coursework (24 hours) where you are required to do a Teach Back to your participants and instructors and get evaluated on your ability to deliver the curriculum.

My goal is to teach as many youth involved individuals in the city of Cleveland and Pittsburgh primarily focusing on schools and community organizations that support youth who may be in distressing situations that can cause mental health crises or emergencies.

As a First Aider, you are able to assess and assist a youth (there is also an adult version) through a mental health crisis.
This training is incredibly helpful for those who are involved with youth populations.

I will be able to certify those who:

1) have an interest in becoming a support role in mental health and

2) complete an 8-hour course with class time and online coursework.
